AvatarStudio is a free web app for making short dance-duet videos — clips where an animated character dances right beside you. You pick a character and a dance, record yourself alongside it, and save the finished video to your camera roll. See About for the bigger picture and How it works for the full flow.

Pick a character (a Sidekick), pick a dance (a Move), choose whether to record live or upload a video, position the character in the frame, and dance along. When you finish, the app builds the video and saves it to your device. The full walkthrough is on the How it works page.

No account is needed to browse the Sidekick and Moves libraries or to try the flow. You sign in only when you want to save your own creations, buy credits, or publish something to the public library.

AvatarStudio is mobile-first and designed for recent iPhones (iOS Safari) and Android phones (Chrome). It works best on up-to-date phones with hardware video support. On older devices that can't build the video on-device, the app automatically uses a cloud fallback so the save still works — you don't have to do anything different.

Browsing the libraries, picking an existing character and dance, recording, and saving a duet are free. Credits are only used for optional extras: generating a custom character, generating a custom dance, and removing the small watermark.

Credits are sold in three packs, bought with a card through our payment processor:

• $10 pack — 700 credits. The base rate (about 70 credits per dollar).
• $25 pack — 1,930 credits. A 10% bonus over the base rate.
• $100 pack — 8,750 credits. A 25% bonus — the best value per dollar.

Larger packs give more credits per dollar. Prices and pack contents may change with notice; the binding terms are in our Terms of Service.

As a guide, generating a custom character costs about 90 credits (roughly $1.29 at the base rate) and generating a custom dance costs about 60 credits; removing the watermark costs less. That means the $10 pack covers several custom creations. Exact per-action prices are shown in the app before you confirm, and they may change with notice.

Purchased credits are prepaid, have no cash value, and are non-refundable. If a custom generation hard-fails on our side, we credit that charge back to your wallet so you are not charged for something you didn't receive. The details are in the Credits section of our Terms of Service.

There is an optional Pro plan at $9.99 per month for people who create a lot. It is entirely optional — the core flow is free and credits are pay-as-you-go without any subscription.

In the character picker, choose Make your own and type a short description of the character you want. AvatarStudio generates a custom Sidekick from your prompt. This uses credits, and you may only create characters and likenesses you have the right to use — see the Acceptable-Use Policy.

Yes. You can create a custom Move from a dance video you supply; the app turns it into a routine your character can perform. This uses credits, and you must have the right to use any video you upload.

Everything you create is private by default and visible only to you. Content becomes public only if you choose to publish it, it passes our moderation and human-review gate, and you complete the required safety acknowledgements. We never make your content public automatically.

On supported phones, your finished duet is built and saved on your own device, so the recorded footage does not need to leave your phone to produce the file. When your device can't do this — older hardware, missing video support, or an interruption — the app falls back to building the video in the cloud so the save still works. This cloud fallback is a built-in, mandatory part of the service, and the app shows you which path is in use. We describe exactly what is processed where in our Privacy Policy.

No. Your camera turns on only while you are recording, and we stop it the moment you finish. We do not stream or upload your live camera feed.

We collect what we need to run your account, wallet, and creations, plus a small set of opaque usage events. We use trusted processors for sign-in, payments, and hosting, and we explain each one — and your rights to access, export, and delete your data — in the Privacy Policy.

First, keep the app open and in the foreground while the video is being built — switching away can interrupt it. If your device can't finish the video itself, the app should switch to the cloud fallback automatically; give it a moment to complete. If it still fails, try again on a stronger connection, or use a more recent phone or browser version.

AvatarStudio needs camera permission to record live. Check that you granted camera access to your browser for this site in your phone's settings. If you would rather not record live, you can upload a video you already shot instead.

Credits are added to your wallet right after a successful purchase. If they haven't appeared, make sure you are signed in to the same account you bought them with, and refresh. If they are still missing, contact us at legal@avatarstudio.cloud with the date and amount and we will look into it.
